Infrared "Sauna"

I love me a good sauna. Steam baths are my preference, but when the gyms were open, I'd love to sit in the hot sauna for 10 minutes or so after a workout to relax and stretch and just get a nice sweat on post sweat from the workout.

With that said, my girlfriend and her husband invited some friends over to show their new home gym while watching the UFC fight... and while there, she showed me her new Infrared Sauna by Clearlight. This is not a Sauna. It's more of an Infrared Therapy.

THIS THING IS AMAZING.

Traditional saunas are a higher heat and you sweat more, and sometimes feels a bit suffocating. Infrared is usually set on a lower heat. Below are some benefits when it comes to Infrared Sauna.

  • Heat improves circulation, expels dirt & chemicals and removes dead cells on the surface of the skin. This makes it ideal for detoxification and can boost your immune system.

  • Increases blood circulation and strengthens your cardiovascular system.

  • The high temperature helps lower blood pressure and increase blood circulation. It gets your heart to beat faster, and it burns calories as it raises your metabolism a little bit. The heart rate increases as more blood flow is diverted from the inner organs towards the extremities of the skin without heightening blood pressure.

  • For injuries, heat stimulates vasodilatation of peripheral blood vessels, bringing oxygen to joints and extremities , speeding the healing of sprains and strains, thus relieving pain.

  •  The increased blood helps aching and injured muscles recover faster because the stronger the flow of blood, the quicker metabolic and toxic waste products are purged from the body, through the skin during perspiration. The skin is often known as the third kidney, because it is believed to be responsible for eliminating up to 30% of body waste..

Do keep in mind that you can get dehydrated, so I kept a thermos of water just outside the door to sip.

Watch the video for more and for the process. Also, please note that this is NOT sponsored. But hey, Jacuzzi, if you're willing to give me one, I don't mind *winky face*
